‘Machete’: Sheriff Arpaio Character Shoots Pregnant Mexican Woman — ‘Welcome to America’
by Warner Todd HustonThe new film Machete is born of a joke. No, really. In 2006 when Quentin Tarantino was gearing up for his double feature movie experience Grindhouse, he solicited other directors like Eli Roth and Rob Zombie to make fake trailers for bad 70’s exploitation moves. These trailers were shown between the two features in a takeoff of the coming attractions shown between movie features in those old 70s era B-picture film houses Tarantino was spoofing with Grindhouse. Machete was one of these over the top, fake movie trailers and it featured the catch phrase, “This time they f**ked with the wrong Mexican.” It got such a rousing reception from fans that director Robert Rodriguez decided to proceed with a full-length feature version.

But the joke has soured. In this film, white America is the enemy and the United States is an oppressive force. It gets so extreme that in one scene a pair of white men shoot to death a pregnant Mexican woman merely so that her baby won’t be born in the USA. The pair then cruelly say, “Welcome to America,” to the dead woman’s Mexican husband. From the Hollywood Reporter:
Among “Machete’s” more provocative elements are border vigilantes led by Don Johnson as a kind of avatar for Maricopa County’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio and fake political ads for an incumbent senator whose platform is built on his “hard line against wetbacks” and a description of them as “parasites.” That the two characters murder a pregnant Mexican woman to prevent her baby from being born in America and then shoot her distraught husband while uttering the line, “Welcome to America,” underlines the point.
That is some pretty harsh stuff.
Sometimes Hollywood doesn’t know when to leave well enough alone. As a two-minute fake trailer in context with the Grindhouse experience it was funny. I attended the full Grindhosue movie experience and had a great, laugh-a-minute time. Unfortunately, Machete is now a full movie of its own, one that is polarizing people instead of entertaining them like the original, fake trailer was able to do.
The timing of this film couldn’t be worse. Machete arrives in theaters just as tensions between Americans and the illegal aliens, most from Mexico, are at their highest. Apparently, this film depicts Mexicans as militant, self-righteous, hateful, anti-Americans out to selfishly grab whatever it is they think they deserve from those evil, white, Americans they hate so much. This movie is made to attack whites, undermine American laws and sovereignty, and push Mexican nationals to an obdurate disdain for America.
Some may scoff at this claim saying that it is all supposed to be funny, a paean to the Blacksploitation movies of the 70s that played to black pride and sticking it to “the man” — meaning whites. Lighten up, they’ll say.
But there is a major difference between the Blaxsploitation movies of the 70s and Machete. Those horribly acted, badly produced films of the 70s that Machete is trying to spoof (just with a Latin flair) were not released with million dollar ad campaigns supporting them. Nor did they ever appear in all that many theaters at any given time, quite unlike what will happen with Machete. Blaxsploitation movies were never as culturally explosive as this film could be. In fact, those 70s films weren’t expecting ever to get such a wide release that real race troubles could result.
It is patently obvious that director Robert Rodriguez intends this film to give succor to militant Mexican nationalism to the denigration of the USA, too. Proof of that is in the introduction he hastily added to his trailer just prior to Cinco de Mayo this year. At the beginning of his ad for the film, Rodriquez added a segment from the star of the film, Danny Trejo, depicting the lead character menacingly giving Arizona a message.
“This is Machete with a special Cinco de Mayo message…” the gravely voiced character actor begins. “To Arizona!,” he says ending with a grimace. Clearly the message is that “Machete” is coming for Arizona and is out to start a race war.
The film’s star, though, counters the anti-whites message in his pre-release comments. He says that Mexicans themselves come in for ribbing right along side the white folks, so the film offers a tit for tat that shouldn’t make anyone mad. As The Hollywood Reporter writes:
“I think Arizona is going to like this movie,” said the man who is Machete. “It doesn’t just deal with the guy who comes over the border to support his family; it deals with the corruption on both sides — the drug dealers, the guys who are getting paid to bring people here and the politicians who, any time they need a good platform, choose immigration. So the feds may now really do something.”
In an effort to support the actor’s assessment, the Hollywood Reporter goes on…
At the same time, the movie has fun with cultural cliches attached to Chicano culture. Characters make verbal references to pinatas, cucarachas, papers, deportation and burritos. A fight played for laughs includes Machete wielding a weedwhacker, hedge clippers and other gardening tools. An underground network for illegal immigrants is headquartered in a taco truck.
This is thin gruel as an excuse, though. While the Mexicans in this film are lambasted with the hi-jinx of jokes about taco trucks and lawn care tools, whites are given no such lighthearted treatment. In this film whites are murderers, rapists, exploiters, oppressors, and politically corrupt. If only they were having fun with lawn tools!
This hatred for whites also rings quite hollow in this day and age. As director Rodriquez tries to paint all whites as evil wrongdoers, real Mexican citizens in Mexico itself are being murdered by the score by real-life drug cartel kingpins. Also immigrants from further south are being kidnapped, held for ransom, raped, and murdered by the thousands by Mexican nationals eager to exploit them for quick cash and cruel fun. Yet as these truly evil things are being done on a daily basis by Mexicans to Mexicans and to other Hispanics, Rodriguez tries to paint white people as the monsters.
Any clear thinking person can understand that holding a Tea Party sign that might seem unwelcoming to illegal immigrants is hardly in the same class as the kidnapping, rape, and murders that are being perpetrated against Hispanics in Mexico every single day.
It is a cynical game Rodriquez plays, and he may well be awarded taxpayer money for doing so.
In any other era we might be more disposed to taking the buckets-o-blood, Mexpolitation nature of this film as just good, over the top, fun. But in this racial and historical climate, the film is bound to bring despair and division instead of enjoyment.

Yeah I am getting real tired of the media and movies portraying me as the "bad guy" and every social and economic problem in the known world is the "white guys" fault, but hey that just me, a person who believes in following the law and personal responsibility…!!!!
And oh by the way, there are thousands of my Latino, Black and Red brothers and sisters who do the same !!!!
Why not come out with a rebuttal movie that's just as racist? Oh wait, Birth of a Nation already came out 95 years ago.
I never thought racist movies could be made in this day and age. Rodriguez proved me wrong. Eh, bravo, I guess?
Don't you know that everyone who dissents from The Hive's party-line is a murderer, or potential murderer? And that's a bad thing, say the people who idolize Che Guevara.
Quite frankly, nothing good has come out of Hollywood since Gone With The Wind, Lawrence of Arabia and True Grit. Now I hear they are going to remake that with a metrosexual in the starring role. Pathetic.
Left to their own devices, the left will destroy themselves. People vote with their wallets. The author is right, in stating "in this racial and historical climate, the film is bound to bring despair and division instead of enjoyment."
People are tired of this garbage. Hollywood is out of touch.
"Now I hear they are going to remake that with a metrosexual in the starring role. Pathetic. "
Huh??
True Grit.
The last I heard, Matt Damon was supposed to play Wayne, but that info could be dated.
I think he is referring to this: True Grit 2010
They're remaking True Grit with Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon.
No, Jeff Bridges is playing Rooster Cogburn. Matt Damon is in the Glen Campbell role.
No, Jeff Bridges is playing Rooster Cogburn. Matt Damon is in the Glen Campbell role.
they just can't help themselves…
Whether it pisses off moviegoers- or hurts the box office- it does not matter ONE BIT. Because, you see, they want to be accepted within their community of secular lefty loons. And in their opinion it is we- the people who pay the ticket prices- who are uniformed ignoramuses who can't see the 'big picture' like they, the Enlightened Ones.
That even a B hack like Rodriguez (yes, children- he is a hack) thinks like this shows you how pervasive it is.
One suspects this to be a tolerable film- at best- but with it's left wing creds it will get better reviews.
Unlike Glenn Beck…
You must be a racist!!! (sarcasm)
http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/ (got from another BH poster!)
Thanks.
Last I heard, it was Matt Damon in the lead role.
I feel better at least Bridges is playing it.
How about 10 dramatic narratives that tell the truth about the border? Why don't we start with the two Mexican-American girls who are kidnapped from Texas (I think) and ended up in the hands of a Mexican sherif who sells them to a cartel. By now, if they are still alive, they are beaten, brainwashed, crack/junkie whores down where the people who really own the Southwest of America live.
70 Illegal aliens were slaughtered, in Mexico, by the Cartel… who were ransoming them for more money. Just a few days agao. 70, bound, tortured, raped, drugged, then finally…. in their pleas of no money, in their pleas of mercy… 70, 1 by 1 or in groups…. gunfire… is very loud… and stunning, and the smoke, and blood… and the instant chaos of life, twitching, then the sudden piercing of blood & smoke & bits, then a lifeless lump, quite fast… each witnessing the one next to them, again and again, untill all are dead…. how old? 13? 25? 40? 50?… men, women, children? pregnant women? And like the Mayans and/or Aztecs a few hundred years ago… sacrificing 70,000 in one day as their best, what I wonder, is on the other days? How many were slaughtered, how often, and when will Hispanics think about that. And the coming of the Christian Conquistador to finally stop those nightmares.

Lindsey Lohan has a starring role. While the production values look high, its a pretty safe bet Machete will have some horrible acting.
Seriously, I doubt that race riots or anything will come of Machete. I acknowledge films can change people's opinions/get them stirred up, but I think they need to be more grounded and subtle than Machete to do so (Robert Rodriguez has made some great movies, but I subtle is not a word I'd apply to any of his movies).
Saw a commercial and thought they were joking?
Hollywood and there ilk is simply and unimaginatively all about easy-to-follow narratives. It's just really too bad there aren't any true "pioneers" left in Hollywood. All there is now is a pool of group-think automatons, all expressing the same ideas and arguments, all circle-jerking about the "new and inventive way" they boxed it up.
Rodriguez will have blood on his hands one day if this garbage incites hatred like I think it will. They are poking the sleeping tiger and one day it will wake up and do something that Rodriguez will regret/
This move looks pretty lame.
I doubt that race riots or anything will come of Machete.
Emphasis on "anything". This thing is going to crash and burn at the box office.
Frankly, I don't think a lot of people were all that eager to see Machete anyway — everyone I know is far more excited that Eli Roth is going ahead with the feature-length version of Thanksgiving.
That's true. Robert Rodriguez has a mixed commercial track record and to the best of my knowledge, Danny Trejo has never starred in a popular movie (though he's been a villian in popular movies).
Sad thing is, pinheads in Hollywood will probably nominate this as "Best documentary".
If the Mexicans chop up all the white guy's then whose going to pay for their food stamps and childcare and emergency room visits and new schools, and free backpacks, and free school supplies. You homies better go and machete the blacks, they don't do nuthin for the Mexicans.
Rodriguez, why the hate? Are we all not brothers?
As a multi-racial mutt myself, this comes down especially hard on myself and my children. What use is it to play one group against another? It may be an easy buck, but it is also an easy path to heck.
And I may mention, the "blacksploitation" genre didn't improve race relations. Seeing each other as humans does that.
As someone from AZ I know exactly what the state is going through and wants to prevent. I'm soo tired of this attitude that the US owes rights and citizenship to any foreign citizen. We're not talking about a few thousand people, we're talking millions. It is and will continue to be an economic and social burden. And it makes it more frustrating that people come and stay here illegally and still don't make an effort to assimilate.
Ha! Thanks for that. I just saved that site. I'll use it on my husband later! What a hoot!
Rodriguez keeps telling everyone he's edited out the bad parts of 'Machete' . Great – that explains the dead pregnant Mexican woman on the floor. Damn, I am so looking forward to seeing the machete taken to this film at the box office.
The original Tarantino Machete trailer was funny becuase it was so over the top about the lie that America was the bad guy in American Mexican relations. It was fun to laugh at La Raza style propaganda.
Rodriquez is turning the original intent 180 degrees for his own greed.
Follow the money. If you're a left wing activists looking for some group to drag to court, you go after the groups that have money. This type of movie plays to those kooks.
As long as it's politically correct racism, its fine.
Anyone that states that hollywood is profit driven is wrong. If that was true, you would have more religious and upright movies, and Shaun Penn would never headline a movie again. When was the last time a Penn movie made significant profit?
When are 10 theatrical narratives going to be made that tell the truth about the American/Mexican border situation?
Why not start with the story of the two Mexican American girls who were kidnapped in Texas (I believe) and ended up in the hands of a Mexican sherif who sold them to a cartel. By now, if they are still alive, they are beaten, brainwashed, crack/herion wh*r*s, owned by the same folks (according to those folks) who have the rightful claim to most of the American Southwest.
Jeff Bridges is a metrosexual? We obviously don't define "metrosexual" in the same way. I don't even see Matt Damon as a metrosexual, unless you mean "metrosexual" as a synonym for "good looking liberal male," which isn't what the word was originally intended to mean.
So, Grindhouse was a miserable failure, and these idiots try again with this horribly ugly piece of trash propaganda effort …? Good luck.
I can't see a movie with good Jewish guys going after Islamists, but I have to look at a poster for this garbage if I go to a theater … awesome.
It's amazing how ugly leftists can be — what horrible beings.
They F—ed with the wrong movie goer.
I'll pass.
so…Rodriguez ripped a story out of the everyday occurances in Mexico – typical examples of Mexican-on-Mexican crime – and slaps it onto his "evil gringo" character…how "original."
How about The Pale Rider, The Outlaw Josey Whales and Unforgiven?
Le's not forget what's really important. Who's play J. Noble Dagget?
These fools have no sense of self.
If Lohan is a star in a movie, that's pretty much all I need to know.
That was a great role.
For years, I have referred to my attornies as "J. Noble Dagget." It really pisses them off.
No.
I was referring to Matt Damon, and I stand corrected. My info was dated. Back in the winter, they floated Damons name fore the lead role.
The usual the Marxists can't win the argument so insult and demonize their enemies. To tell the truth it is so overused now it is almost comical. The have no idea what to do so like caged animals the lash out which makes them look worse. Pitiful group of wasted flesh and blood.
I made the original statement, in an offhand, flip manner.
Furthermore, Lonesome Dove was excellent.
Personally, the last movies I have seen were Hoffa, with Danny Divito and Jack Nicholson and the one with Robert Duvall playing the preacher and Farrah Facett.
Hollywood doesn't make much of a box office draw from me.
How about Bill Schultz from Red Eye?
I knew you meant it that way, that's why I just had to take your bait.
that would be never…
yaaaaawwn….
My father is from Spain my mom is From The United States, my wife is from Mexico. My kids have a multitude of ethniicty in thier blood….. Please don't call yourself a "mutt" I used to say that about my self until I realized that I am an American. Yes we have mixed heritage but first and foremost we are Americans. I tried to explain this to my 6-year-old and he sid to me " So I am 100% American and 50% Mexican?" I told him I couldn't have said it better myself.
Naw, I'm sure Fast Times at Ridgemont High made a few bucks.
yawwwwwn….aw , darn contagious yawning.
Always know when people say this, they are projecting .project project project
not 'his' movie- Cameron Crowe's. Next?
That's just Hollywood, in the real world six years ago a truck loaded with all illegal drunk Mexicans slammed into my aunt and uncle's car as they were on their way to a Saturday Mass. My Aunt was killed and the illegals all got free health care and none were ever prosecuted. THAT'S the REAL world but you Hollywood ilk want to make something up and film it in order to give law and order a bad name you just have at it. All the while my aunt is still dead and you are still trash.
As a White male, I enjoyed being the villain of this movie.
If there's a white villain in the whole illegal immigration mess, it's the lily-white Mexican governing classes, who cynically shove their poor mestizo citizens across the border and into America in order to avoid having to deal with corruption, mismanagement and grow their economy at a rate to alleviate their poverty.
I haven't seen anything in the trailers that makes me think it still won't be completely hilarious in the same way.
I haven't seen anything in the trailers that makes me think it still won't be completely hilarious in the same way.
You're right, people do talk with their wallets. Hollywood is so out of touch and so destitute that Avatar made 2.7 billion dollars. People are really making their voice heard on how much they disapprove.
Avatar was shiny. Most of the movies coming out of Hollywood…aren't.
"It's so true! We're so lame!"
A couple of Demographic points to make about Machete and the movie in general. Reihan Salam has a column in the Daily Beast (you can find the link off Hotair) about Glenn Beck as the "White Malcolm X" and illustrates the demographic shift. Among Americans older than 65, 80% of them are White, among Americans under 18, only 56% are White.
MEXICANS ARE TAKING OVER. WHITES ARE SOON TO BE A MINORITY. This is a demographic fact, and would happen if we closed the border tomorrow, given differential birth rates (see Salam's article which mentions this in detail).
Robert Rodriguez is the most assimilated, successful Mexican-American you can imagine. He dates Rose McGowan. He makes the Disney Spy-Kids movies. He lives in a mansion. All paid for by White audiences. And this is the movie he made, reflecting his own view about Whites, who made him a wealthy man.
I would argue, that Rodriguez's views about Whites, is not too far off from that of MOST Mexicans, illegal aliens and legal immigrants, AND Mexican-Americans, citizens of the USA. That is, Rodriguez does not like Whites, and thinks all Whites are "racists" who should be shot, as Mexicans "take over" in utter dominance. In fact, objecting to becoming a minority in one's own country without a vote, any legislation on this, is "racist" in and of itself. If you are a White guy who does not want to defacto live in Mexico as a "gringo" who is discriminated against, that makes you an "evil racist shooting pregnant Mexican women."
There has NEVER EVER EVER been in the history of Mankind, a "peaceful" displacement of the majority ethnicity by a set of newcomers. It has never happened. Wow, what a surprise. Mexicans hate Whites, and hate them even when they are tremendously successful courtesy of White customers (not too many Mexicans patronized "Spy Kids" movies). Visigoths and Romans, Franks and Romans, Vandals and Ostrogoths and Romans, Saxons and Angles and Jutes and Britons, Normans and Saxons, this is an old, old story, with the losers being destroyed and the winners dominating utterly.
Older Whites, can look forward to continuing discrimination against them, and likely a miserable time as their culture disappears, and America becomes a variant of Mexico. But for ordinary younger White guys with no huge amount of money, we are suddenly minorities in our country and face a LIFETIME of discrimination because we cannot, and never will be, Mexican. Discriminated against, hated, by the new majority population: Mexicans. Cute White girls can (as in the movie Machete) sleep with the new Mexican power structure. The rest of us are basically in the situation of a Black man in Mississippi in 1924. Some might argue this is "justice" to punish younger White men for … stuff other White men long did more than half a century ago, long before we were born. Rich White guys can still operate "globally" and move across the globe to escape this — the rest of us are stuck. We don't like it one bit.
Bottom line: all this will do is "awaken" younger White guys on the need to constantly "fight back" and "get tough" in their own "White Malcolm X" manner courtesy Reihan Salam. Which includes overt racial pride, ethnic solidarity, and other survival mechanisms as Whites become a minority in their own nation VERY RAPIDLY.
Blaxploitation movies could trigger yawns because Blacks were only a decade out of overt Jim Crow discrimination and were about 11% of the population then. Hardly a demographic threat, and anti-White sentiment excused as part of the memory of living discrimination (and shame). Mexicans are poised to take over America demographically and expressing hatred for Whites, as in Machete, is a statement of … DOMINANCE.
The scumbags kept using "Restoring Honor" in their tweets Saturday to get noticed.
Think about it. The progressives would love to see a real race war. It would give BO and his trolls the opportunity to institute marshal law and to cancel the Nov elections. Only problem with the marshal law thingy is whether or not the US military would shoot American citizens or side with them. In either case I would not like to see such a thing.
The trailer was enough to tell me everything I need to know about this movie.
More agitprop with a Spanish accent.
They could more easily make a movie about machete violence and murders south of the border. They wouldn't have to hire any actors – just set up cameras on several street corners in border towns. In a week they'd have enough footage for a couple of movies.
We do not shoot pregnant Mexican women – we let them all in, hence our economic collapse. But if you want to know who's killing Mexicans – that'd be Mexicans, and their Arab cohorts – Human and drug smugglers who murder and bury them in the desert. Nothing to say about them though, huh? LaRaza is becoming as bad as Hamas.
70 bodies found last week. Mexican Muslim Drug Lord arrested the prior week. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!
I have not been to a movie theater inalmost 20 years. Would prefer to read reviews and then watch it in the privacy of my home with my own cheap popcorn, icy beverage of choice, as much candy as I want.
There are not many movies that are worth going to. Hollywood has lost it's magic, in part because they have uneducated libtards who want to get a message across. The other main reason is that everything is rehashed from previous films.
So bring bake the great movies and get rid of the whining metrosexuals who have a chip on their shoulder.
"Rodriguez does not like Whites, and thinks all Whites are "racists" who should be shot, as Mexicans "take over" in utter dominance." Seriously, man?
The context for an exploitation movie in 2010 is very different than the 1970s. Just take a look at Black Dynamite, which reveled in poking fun at (while enjoying) the campy excesses inherent to the genre. Black Dynamite may have been fighting to get drugs off the street, but I suspect a large portion of the film's audience enjoys marijuana.
While Machete doesn't appear to be as obviously a comedy, I feel confident that its tongue is in its cheek, and nothing political in the film should be taken seriously. If anything, it's there to be mocked. Of course, the proof will be in the pudding when it finally comes out.
Love Lawrence of Arabia!
Great film!
Me too.
Was that the sequel to Knocked Up?
You sound like a Liberal Troll.

Well said, very well said. This observation is known to many an American and despite the awareness, the problems continue to burgeon into one horror after another from South of our Border.
This is the product of craven, utterly craven degeneration of civilization into something not civilized, and, the whole Hispanic ethnic-supremacy movement (La Raza, gangs, etc.) has fanned those flames of the destruction of civilization here north of our border.
We should all learn a bit more about the Indian Wars, so-called, from the days before Europeans arrived in large numbers in North America. People from Central America were responsible for hideous barbarity upon others to their North (now the American Southwest and Midwest) and were eventually defeated back into the Central and South Americas. Something quite sick affects Central America, I don't know what it is or why, but it's entirely sick and Rodriguez has created something that bespeaks it. What's happened to his mind?
Something to think about: why aren't people from central America sneaking into countries in South America? Why come North? Why not go South? If the U.S. and all us White People are so awful, why come here?
Gee, look at all the people who's movies I don't need to see any more. Wow, it must be a hundred or more just from this one.
Funny quote from actor Danny Trejo:
"It was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. I'd been in Soledad, San Quentin, Folsom, Vacaville, Susanville, Sierra — and here's a guy asking, 'Can you act like a convict?' I remember I said. 'I'll give it a shot'."
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001803/bio
I like Trejo on screen but this film by/from Rodriguez ("Machete") sounds like a sick loser. Too bad, Trejo.
Wondering when Rodriguez is going to make a film about the massacres in Mexico. By Hispanics.
How about a film about cannibals in the South West. Who were also Hispanics. From Mexico. Who ate Native Americans in the South West.
@ Whiskey:
"DOMINANCE" and then they all ran out of people to eat, harass, murder, maim, devour and otherwise, victimize and presto, no longer "dominant" but waning.
It's happened several times in Central America and South America and I doubt there's going to be any change in the future, that "Hispanics" (so they refer to themselves) splurge in gluttonous rages while barbarically ruining all others, then they perish. There's nothing winning (nor dominant) about many of their behaviors, they don't reflect a "fitness" that survives well. It splurges in decades, then it self-immolates, such as is happening in Mexico at this very moment.
Don't be so quick to overassume "dominance." Especially when you're trying to promote one ethnicity over others and over other races, it's a failing strategy, and history has proven that it is.
Obviously, Tarantino is wrong. Shooting somebody for entering the country happens in Mexico. At its southern border.
I sincerely hope for a race war. Excellent way for 200 million white Americans to clean house. If I need someone to do a half a$$ job mowing my yard or cleaning a cheap motel room, I'll do it myself.
What about those of us who aren't white or fully white who consider themselves American?
My family is Mexican. We're good patriots. We go to work, we pay our taxes, we know english, and we celebrate the 4th of July. Oh, and some of us are in, or going into, the military. Do you think we need to be "cleaned"?
I'm part hispanic. Yet, I'm completely against illegal immigration and multicultural victimhood.
So, lets stop with the broad generalizations ok? It makes you look like a plant from the Daily Kos.
John Wayne was on of the 1st metrosexuals.

Who wears short shorts?
Sigh. I guess if they can build a terrorist training center literally on Ground Zero then of course something like this would be legal to make and sell in America.
I'm not so sure that he/she isn't a plant, good rep or no.

But most importantly, what the hell did any of that have to do with the original thread?
yet another reason not to support the leftist movie industry.
Can you document that?
I'm reserving judgement. I'm going to see Machete… with my two Mexicans.
sure is right-wing in here
Rumors of increasing violence because of a movie have been greatly exaggerated. If anything, this movie has its appeal because it does a 180 on what has become known as the "Gringo saving the world" cliché; that is that most action movies will have by definition a Gringo saving the "free world" (read: USA) from the terrorists/communits/talibans/whatever. So finding a movie where the tables are turned in what amounts to be a mexploitation and exploitation-parody movie sure brings out a couple of giggles over here. But I doubt anyone will actually take this movie as a serious thing, let alone inspire acts of violence against "white gringos". Did US citizens attack Mexicans after watching "the Alamo"?
